FORMAL VS INFORMAL GREETINGS

“Good evening” is often used after 6p.m. or generally after sunset


“Good night” is not a greeting. It is used when leaving a place or group of people.

Example: Thank you and good night! / Good night, and see you tomorrow.

Pattern 1

It’s a pleasure to meet you. - a polite way of greeting someone who you are meeting for the first time
