TALKING ABOUT PLANS
Pattern I
Are you going to...? / What are you going to do for... ?
- "be going to" is used to talk about planned actions in the future
- "Are you going to...? / What are you going to do for... ?" are used to ask questions about someone's plans
Examples:
Pattern II
I'm really excited for...
- used to express a feeling of being very happy and enthusiastic about a plan
- used with "for + noun" and "to + verb"
Examples:
I'm really excited for the beach party. |
I'm really excited to join the beach party. |
I'm really excited for the wedding. |
I'm really excited to attend the wedding. |
Pattern III
I will be ... on... - used to say how old you will become on your next birthday

I will be 42 years old on the first of November.

He will be 18 years old on Thursday.
Example:
Pattern IV
Sounds like fun.
- used to say that the activity seems enjoyable
- "sounds + adjective" can be used to say however you feel about the activity
Examples:
We are going to a theme park for Christmas.
Sounds like fun!
I am going to take my girlfriend out for dinner.
That sounds romantic.
