She is sitting on the living room floor, folding the clothes neatly. Jack is vacuuming the carpet in the hallway. The Smith family is working together to finish all the housework. They understand the importance of teamwork and keeping their home clean and organized.

Present Continuous

1. Use the present continuous to describe a temporary activity in progress now/ around now, or an unfinished activity.


GRAMMAR -04

    Example:

  • Are you walking or driving?

  • John is speaking on the phone. ( = now )

  • They are building a new shopping mall in the city. ( = it is not finished yet )


2. Make present continuous statements with am/is/are + ing form of the verb.

    Example:

  • I'm watching a Korean drama at the moment.

  • Jane is sleeping.

  • They are drinking iced coffee.


3. If a verb ends in -e, drop the -e.

    Example:

  • dance   ➡   My friends are dancing | NOT danceing


4. If a verb ends in one vowel and one consonant, double the consonant.

    Example:

  • run   ➡   The bus is running fast. | NOT runing.
