2024-EIKEN-Speaking L4

Answer:

Sample Answer:

One day, a university student was studying at home. He was staying in the same room with his little brother who was listening to loud music, so he had a hard time studying. He told his mother that he couldn’t study in his room because of the loud music, and his mother looked very concerned about it. The next day, the student was walking down the street with her mother. While they were walking, they passed by a real estate agency and they saw several advertisements for apartments for rent posted on their windows. The student told her mother that one apartment was close to his school. One month later, the student was finally moving into this new apartment, and he was looking forward to studying peacefully there. That evening, the student was trying to study in his new room, but there was loud music coming from the room next door, so he still couldn’t study.

Let's Discuss! Part 2: Question and Answer

LETS DISCUSS TEMPLATE EIKEN GRADE PRE-1

Question 1

Please look at the fourth picture. If you were the university student, what would you be thinking?

Sample Answers:

I’d be thinking that If I had known that it would be just as difficult to study in this new apartment, maybe I shouldn’t have moved out from my family’s house. I should have asked the real-estate agent about my neighbors.

EIKEN Answer Tips 💡

📌 To express regret for this situation, use the phrase “should have”, just like the example given “I shouldn’t have moved out from my family’s house”.

Question 2

Do you think that children nowadays are getting more and more interested in staying at home than playing outside?

Sample Answers:

Yes. Technology has had a big impact on most children nowadays. They are more interested in using gadgets in watching movies and playing games. They would even rather communicate with their friends through chat that meet them outside.

EIKEN Answer Tips 💡

📌 When you answer this question, since the question is trying to compare two ideas, your response should also be in the comparative form. You can use expressions such as “rather than”, “compared to”, etc.

Question 3

Do you think it's necesarry for everyone to get a college degree?

Sample Answers:

No, I don’t think so. Even without a university degree, there are many companies that hire people despite not having a university diploma. Studying at a university may not be the best choice for people with limited financial resources since tuition fees can be very expensive.

EIKEN Answer Tips 💡

📌 In the case of NO, you can mention some points such as getting a variety of jobs even without a degree and the high cost of tuition to support your opinions. In the case of YES, you can mention some advantages of having a college degree such as getting higher salaries.

Question 4

Should the government do more measures to reduce the amount of produced garbage in one's country?

Sample Answers:

Yes, I highly agree. The government should fund campaigns to educate people about how to properly store and use leftover food. They should also fine companies or supermarkets for throwing away too much waste.

EIKEN Answer Tips 💡

📌 If you answer NO to this question, it would be better if you explain the measures that people should do individually rather than relying on the government.
