STUDENTS

A. admissions

  • (noun) the process or fact of entering or being allowed to enter a place, organization, or institution

    Example:

B. funding

  • (noun) the action or practice of providing money for a particular purpose

    Example:

C. student union

  • (noun) is a student organization present in many colleges, universities, and high schools.
  • In higher education, the students' union is often dedicated to social, organizational activities, representation, and academic support of the members

    Example:

D. hall of residence

  • (noun) a college building where students live.

    Example:

  • One hall of residence is for men, one is for women and the third is mixed.

E. scholarship

  • (noun) a grant or payment made to support a student's education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievements.

    Example:

  • His excellence in baseball earned him a scholarship..

F. student society

  • (noun) an organization, operated by students at a university, whose membership normally consists only of students. They are often affiliated with a university's students' union.

    Example:

  • All the student society members are expected to attend the meeting today.

G. Academic staff

  • workers of a university or college.

    Example:

  • They say mixed colleges attract more applicants and find it easier to retain academic staff.

H. seminars

  • bringing together small groups for meetings, focusing each time on some particular subject

    Example:

  • Our professor's research will be presented in a seminar in Taiwan next Monday.

  • money that a student borrows to pay for their course.
